Posters with purpose contest 2021: SDG posters for change
In 2015, world leaders at the UN adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and improve the lives of everyone, everywhere by 2030. The SDGs aim to spark bold and transformative action to shift the world onto a sustainable and resilient path.
thinkPARALLAX is hosting a propaganda-style poster contest challenging designers to visually represent the SDGs in a way that inspires action. Please follow these design requirements:
Pick one of the 17 SDGs that resonates with you personally, it must appear in the bottom right corner (see template for more instructions)
Full color designed on poster size: 11x17, vertical.
Include at least a strong headline or visual and end with a call-to-action.
Only use facts provided from the SDG website, additional facts can come from an organization’s website as long as the facts can be verified.
(optional) Highlight an organization related to your SDG of choice to strengthen your message, visual, or call-to-action.
The designers at thinkPARALLAX will evaluate each poster based on originality, effective messaging, and most impactful design with meaning — the design ethos, “design with purpose.”
The top submissions will be exhibited at the thinkPARALLAX event space in Encinitas, California on October 28th (TBD) from 6-10pm, with live screen printing of the top design. The winning designer will also receive a $500 scholarship.
